South African rapper Thapelo Motlhatlhedi, also known under the name Lava is a self-taught mixing engineer from Thaba Nchu in the Free State. He first dipped his toes in the industry after landing his first job as a mixing engineer at Electromode in 2011. He has since successfully showed off his musically creative skills after working on several hits for musicians like Teargas and Bongani Fassie. Thapelo has proven to be a true asset to the Electromode team. This ultimately led to his current position as head mixing engineer and musician at Khustic Media Recording Studio.

He performs magic on the mixing boards whilst offering a taste of truth with his potent lyrics as a hip hop musician. His single, “Thola Zaka” featuring Priddy Ugly (produced by B1Beatz), is just the first step to the ultimate goal of releasing a his first full-length album, which is currently in progress along with plans for an EPK, second single and a music video.

From this point on, Thapelo will continue working his passion by contributing to the music industry and creating more connections; of which he has started to do through his first listening session. He’s also eager to make an even bigger musical impact both nationally and internationally.
